Article: Are you pregnant too??

Are you pregnant too??

Are you pregnant too??

Surprise! I'm not pregnant. But it appears that everyone around me is expecting!

April is definitely going to be the most expensive month for me this year! My calendar is filled with baby shower after baby shower. Wish me and my wallet luck!

During these times I have noticed, with friends, that it is hard for an expecting mother to find fashionable "maternity" clothing. Half of maternity clothing is either handed down to friends or thrown out immediately after the pregnancy is done. What a waste!

While I was shopping for my Baby Mama Annette, I encountered such a stressful problem: How am I supposed to find comfortable clothing that she can wear during her pregnancy and also wear after birth! And have her feel beautiful in what she is wearing!

However, the clothing I did purchase for her led me to another problem: Baby bumps are ever changing during pregnancy and who's to know if one shirt fits now, will it fit next month?

So what does this award winning auntie do?

SHE CURATES THE APHRODITE COLLECTION!! *Insert Proud Tia Dance*

I want all my Diosas' to feel beautiful--even if its only for a moment, in between morning sickness or as your growing baby pushes on your bladder... AGAIN. I have curated a few looks that have been maternity tested by my dear soul sista, Annette. Photographed at only 4 months, baby bump perfection. We will be testing how these looks work as her baby bump grows!

Staying comfortable was at the top of my list when curating this collection. Keeping two things in mind for these looks, no uncomfortable waistbands and staying warm.

Look #1: (Left) The Norma Leggings are a great staple piece to have during your pregnancy and after. These leggings are soft and relaxed, designed to add warmth and style without bulkiness. The inside is a very soft and cozy fleece that keeps you warm and comfy! The waistband keeps you secure and allows support for your belly, which I’ve heard is a must! Paired with the Tarah Sweater to keep you extra warm! Mix and match this cozy sweater with different styling pieces all season long!

Look #2: (Right) Another great staple piece, the Alicia Jumpsuit. One thing Annette complained about was that most maternity clothing doesn’t have pockets. Um, hello! Pregnant women need to carry things too. This jumpsuit has lightweight pockets that perfectly complement this piece. Perfect for all seasons--best of all, no waistband!! The relaxed fit is effortless and easy to style for a chill day or a day full of errands! Plus the lightweight thermal fabric is SO SOFT! Styled in the photo with the Stevie Boyfriend Jacket & the Boyd Scarf. Layers are everything when it comes to bringing together a look. And they keep you warm, what more can you ask for.

Let's get groovy baby! You can never go wrong with tie dye! These two looks are great to bring color and life to your day, whether its a fun tee or a sweet dress to throw on and get your day started!

Look #1: (Left) Layers--again. Love a good layering moment and I am not sorry about it. The Stevie Boyfriend Jacket is one of my favorite layering pieces. It brings the look together and the light denim makes the fun colors in the Hiya Buddy Tee pop! Plus the irony of the tee & the baby bump is everything. Paired with the bump friendly Norma Leggings--cause no jeans allowed here.

Look #2: (Right) Literally the best option to throw on and go! If you're the grab and go kind of gal, two more looks are going to be listed below. But for now, the Ily Midi Dress! Grab this sweet slip dress and go, go, go!! To wear this sweet dress during pregnancy we recommend sizing up. The adjustable straps will make it a great piece to use when the baby is here. Pull that strap down and pump or feed or use the tie dye to distract the eye from any leak!

For a girl who loves a good layering moment these two looks are one of my favorites--maybe I'm being bias because my baby mama be lookin’ cute as heck in these looks! These two are one and done looks!

Look #1: (Left) The new Grace Jumpsuit is my favorite maternity friendly style!! It is so good for before, during, and after pregnancy! What made this look my favorite was the reaction I got from Annette. She was glowing--not only from the pregnancy. She felt good, cute, and feminine! I styled it with the tie above the bump for comfort. The buttons make it easy for breastfeeding or pumping on-the-go. The relaxed fit of the jumpsuit make it great for rockin' this jumpsuit with your growing bump.

Look #2: (Right) Another great piece to throw on the is the Zariana Dress! Now here is the reality with this dress... it is not very bra friendly. Which can be a problem when it comes to breastfeeding, any milky leaks, or just support in general. But it is a sweet dress and there are ways to still make it work! One way is to wear this dress as a layering piece, style it with the Parker Sweater. The cropped sweater will turn the dress into a fun flowy skirt. Another way to wear this dress without covering the effect of the dress is to style it with a lace bralette where you can insert your nursing pads!

Just because the baby is made doesn't mean there is no time for romance! Keep things saucy and fun with a Date Night! So here comes the fun date night looks!

Look #1: (Left) A round of applause for the sexy but so freaking comfortable Jayden Maxi Dress!! This dress is a one and done look, throw this baby on with the Jazzy Hoops and a sleek black boot! The leg slit gives it a sexy look while the mock neckline gives it sophistication! The jersey fabrication makes this chic style super duper comfortable.

Look #2: Satin slip dresses screams “instant date night look.” The Thalia Satin Slip Dress is extra sweet with its blush silky fabrication. As far as the bump, we recommend sizing up to give your baby some room! The dress has adjustable straps fo wear after the pregnancy, no need for nip slips!

From what I have seen, being pregnant is not easy. Having to get dressed or deal with getting dressed shouldn't be hard. So I hope this helps!

Con mucho amor,

Diosa
